Boat #96, Nicaraugua

What I know about Nicaraugua: It's very difficult to type "Nicaragua" fast without mixing it all up. Try it. Nicararaugua. Nicuruagaura. Nicaraguga.

Boat #97, Grenada

Ah, Grenada. Generations of school children grow up knowing that they're supposed to remember something important about you. Now what was it again? I think Ronald Reagan used to vacation there. Yeah, that sounds right.

Boat #98, Mongolia

Our first visit to Mongolia! Likely it's our last, so be sure to take in the sights.

Boat #100! Laos

Nifty stamp, eh? Even better is the package it came in:

I got this packet of stamps from my good friend Ollie. Ollie and I suffered through art school together. Now Ollie works as a design editor for National Geographic. You can read a little bit about the work he does for the magazine here. So Ollie gave me these stamps for Christmas. Christmas, for Ollie, apparently means February 10th. The best part is that he left the price tag on too. Now I know exactly how much my friendship is worth to him:

But seriously, as you can see it's incredibly affordable to become a stamp collector. So why not shell out a couple bucks and start traveling the world?

Boat #116, Republic of Upper Volta

I'll bet you're reading this wondering: Where the heck is the Republic of Upper Volta? Like many African nations it's gone through multiple name changes and coups in the brief period following it's independence from European colonialism. Since 1984 this nation has been known as Burkina Faso.

Boat #117, Norway

To ward off the inevitable flood of emails from angry Norwegians after last Saturday's post in which I denigrated a national hero I've decided to focus on something a little more positive. I don't speak Norwegian but this stamp appears to have something to do with a constitution. Go Norway!
